Introducing CD1G

Updated: Dec 12, 2020

What is CD1G?

Our CD1G sanitizing solution is the simple and modern method that harnesses chlorine dioxide’s (ClO2) powerful biocidal properties which kills microorganisms (bacteria, viruses and spores) by attacking and penetrating their cell wall, disrupting the transport of nutrients across the cell wall and inhibiting protein synthesis. Since this action occurs regardless of the metabolic state of the organism, this oxidizing biocide is very effective against dormant organisms and spores.

Why choose CD1G?

Chlorine dioxide offers the best possible blend of biocidal efficiency, environmental performance and cost-effectiveness available on the market today.

For decades, chlorine dioxide has been used  as an effective disinfectant in a wide range of industries including water purification and medical-grade disinfection. It is widely known to outperform alternative chemistries (such as bleach), providing superior disinfection that can be tailored for various applications. In fact, ClO2 is 263% more effective than conventional chlorine solution, one of the most commonly used surface disinfectants worldwide. And unlike chlorine, ClO2 has been found to be effective against complex organisms such as cysts and protozoa, destroying biofilm completely at source by penetrating polysaccharide layers to destroy bacteria within the biofilm. Not only does ClO2 boast a broad-spectrum efficacy including bacteria, yeast, fungi, viruses, mycobacteria, protozoa and bacterial spores – microorganisms CAN'T build resistance to chlorine dioxide.

This active ingredient is effective in exceptionally short contact times (holds a proven public record of being a high-level disinfectant in contact times as short as 30 seconds) at lower concentrations, which means you achieve the same result for less amount, making it the most cost-efficient product in the market. It also demonstrates a good safety profile whilst maintaining efficacy, which is why it has been used for disinfecting water and making it safe to drink.

Furthermore, ClO2 is kinder to the environment as it has a lower oxidation potential and does not form an acid, and therefore is less corrosive. ClO2 will not react with many organic compounds, which means it does not produce environmentally dangerous by-products.

In conclusion, chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is

1. More effective

2. Less corrosive

3. Kind to the environment
