ISPS is the Protector of Shipping Vessels in the Philippines

Updated: Sep 2, 2022

We all know that COVID-19 is easily transmitted through close contact with an infected person however, when it comes to objects or surfaces, how long can it stay active?

Researchers from the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), UCLA, and Princeton University found that COVID-19 can survive up to three hours in aerosol, up to four hours on copper, and up to 24 hours on cardboard while it can last up to three days on plastic and stainless steel.

This is exactly what happened to the Diamond Princess cruise ship where the genetic material of the coronavirus was identified on a variety of surfaces in the cabins of the passengers even after 17 days since they left.

Although researchers couldn’t determine whether transmission occurred from contaminated surfaces, CDC said that “ COVID-19 on cruise ships poses a risk for the rapid spread of disease, causing outbreaks in a vulnerable population, and aggressive efforts are required to contain the spread.”

Having said that, it is best to hire a team of professionals that can employ sanitation and preventive decontamination methods to combat COVID-19 and prevent further COVID-related risks that can greatly affect business operations as well as passengers and/or workers. Now is the time for us to use stronger measures to contain the virus because it can contaminate open or enclosed spaces from hours to days, making it a potential cause for people to become infected unknowingly and asymptomatically.

The process of disinfection is the fastest way to eliminate dangerous bacteria, viruses, and germs on materials and surfaces. International Sanitization and Protection Suppliers (ISPS) is a Philippine-based corporation that is an expert in environmental disinfection services. We administer the traditional cleaning treatment via misting and electric bio-fogging, but we use state-of-the-art equipment and advanced sterilization techniques which makes us the industry-leading company in the field.

We can conduct disinfection operations for large, medium-sized, and small areas like offices and business establishments but other than that, ISPS is also capable of disinfecting huge, local, sea transportation vehicles!
