The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is by far higher than the number of COVID tests being administered in the country on a daily basis, which is above 45,000 tests on average. Late in March, Testing Czar Vince Dizon said in an article that experts and the COVID-19 task force recommended COVID-19 tests to be up at 90,000 everyday.
“We’ve been hitting above 45,000 tests on average, and we even hit a high of 58,000 tests per day, but despite that tremendous number of tests per day, we still need to test more,” Dizon said in an interview cited by a news report.
